Finley Washington provides residents with the best of both worlds. With less than 10,000 residents within the city it has a rural atmosphere, but it is also in close proximity to the larger Tri-City area. In the 1950’s, Finley’s population increased significantly due to the converging of the town of Hover. The railway lines and power grids encouraged industrial plants to establish themselves in the area and remain there today. These businesses and trades encouraged growth and attracted a variety of industrial and commercial residents to provide an economic backbone for the area.
Two Rivers Park is a popular recreation area, and with Finley’s temperate climate it is optimal to utilize this park’s year-round availability for fishing, swimming, and boating, as well as hiking and biking trails and a playground for children. The Benton County Historical Museum has many interesting exhibits and there are many historical points of interest to visit as well—such as available access to Lewis and Clark’s exhibition trail and local “ghost towns” like the town of Hover a few miles down river of Finley. Along with these numerous recreational activities provided within Finley, with a quick trip you can access the rest that the metropolitan Tri-City area has to offer.
